Is my Omega real or fake?
Check the serial against the papers, then the back and the seconds hand: many fakes give themselves away there. Omega has no free public serial lookup, so for a watch you are about to pay for, let a professional check it. On eBay, watches from $2,000 get that check for free.
Check before you pay

Red flags
- A price far below every similar listing.
- No photo of the serial, the case back or the papers.
- "Replica", "homage", "inspired by" or "style" anywhere in the listing.
- A decorative helium valve that does not turn, or a seconds hand that ticks on a "Co-Axial" model.
- A seller who asks you to pay outside eBay.
The safe way to buy one
- A listing priced $2,000 or more: eBay's authenticator checks it before you receive it.
- Between $500 and $1,999.99: add the $80 Authenticity Guarantee at checkout.
- Papers and cards with the same serial as the watch.

These checks help you spot a crude fake. They do not prove a watch is real: we do not authenticate anything, and we are not affiliated with Omega or any other brand.
