Are Lladro figurines worth anything?

Lladro porcelain has been made in Spain since 1953; retired and larger pieces are the ones people seek. Small common pieces usually sell well below their original price.

What to look for

Check what applies to yours:

• The Lladro mark under the base; the related NAO brand usually sells for less.
• Retired pieces and large, detailed sculptures.
• Delicate parts intact: fingers, flowers and lace break easily.

Before you sell

• Compare with items that actually sold, not only with asking prices.
• Take clear photos in daylight: front, back, marks and any damage.
• Do not clean coins, and do not repaint or polish old items: it often lowers the value.
• For anything that might be valuable, get an opinion from a certified appraiser or a specialist dealer.
